Sugar Kid, which is coming to iOS later this year, is one of those titles that has a split personality. On the outside, it’s a cute and camp platformer done in the style of games like Cut The Rope. Beneath its candy coated exterior, however, Sugar Kid is as bloody and brutal as any Game of Thrones episode, which makes the game almost as fun to look at as it looks to play. The game has been in development for some time but this new gameplay trailer gives us our first real look at the upcoming title.
While all of this may seem as cute and standard as any game of this type on the App Store, everything changes when players enter the game’s “Gore Mode”. In this mode, when Sugar catches a stray drop from The Lemon’s machine he gushes with blood and frantically flails about with pain. Game over? Sugar pays the ultimate price by suffering one of the game’s fatalities and meeting his not-so-cuddly end!
You’ll come for the cute faces and brilliant animations but stay for the gameplay and gore when Sugar Kid hits the App Store later this summer for all iOS devices.
