Best of British Summer Sports

Best of British: Summer Sports, the totally free game (with no adverts and no in-app purchases) was created in collaboration in just under 48 hours by some of the top independent developers the UK has to offer at BoB Hack. BoB Hack, short for Best of British, took place at the Mind Candy studio where over 10 developers designed away from July 20 – 22nd with the help of Unity.

Best of British: Summer Sports is a collection of mini games that include poking boxers in the eyes, racing vikings, electrocuting synchronized swimmers, and many other quirky ideas. Although the gameplay is simple, it is very fast paced. You will be introduced to each mini-game without a description of what to do, while this sounds odd in writing, it makes for a very fun experience. You start off with three lives, once you fail a mini game you lose a life and it’s on to the next off-beat task you have to complete.

Overall the game is extremely fun to play, it’s hard to believe it was developed in only 48 hours. Of course there was some polish in preperation for the App Store, but still impressive none the less. One reviewer stated “If you like Warioware then you’ll love this”, I couldn’t agree more!

Stephen Morris describes the Best of British event as “A collection of talented British developers who have rallied together to showcase the best Britain has to offer. The “Summer Sports” game is a pure example of both British camaraderie and offbeat humour.”
