Too often when games boast of being retro, yet original, there isn’t too much about them that actually fulfills that claim. Hyper Breaker Turbo, however, looks to be one game that breaks that trend. Created by RZDESIGN, the minds behind the popular game Push Panic, Hyper Breaker Turbo is a block-breaking game in the style of cult classic Super Break Out.
Sporting retro-style graphics with a bright, modern twist, Hyper Breaker Turbo is an amalgamation of new and old, featuring free paddle control and realistic physics, which combine to grant you precise control over where exactly you want the ball to go. The levels themselves have also undergone a change from the classics, with each individual level featuring a broad, multi-screen design that requires both planning and skill to complete.
In addition to 25 classic style action and arcade packed puzzle levels, Hyper Breaker Turbo also features 25 ‘scribble’-themed levels and another 25 neon-themed levels, for a grand total of 75 at launch. Players can compete for high scores, and even global achievements. There’s even a ‘Worldwide Blocks Broken’ counter that updates live every time anyone breaks a block.
Hyper Breaker Turbo is planned for release during Q1 of 2013 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Until it’s finally released, however, you can keep an eye on it by following updates on Facebook.
