Developer Splash Damage (BRINK, Enemy Territory) is teaming up with WarChest to bring you a free-to-play, turn-based strategy game for the iOS.

RAD Soldiers (nicknamed “Guns With Friends“) is a class-based multiplayer game that is played on a grid. Players will be able to play complete matches at once, or choose to stagger matches out for longer periods of time. With a framework similar to popular mobile games like Words With Friends, each player will receive a notification when it is their turn, keeping games convenient and accessible.

RAD Soldiers will be taking place in post-evacuated London after “mysterious McGuffin Rockets” land. Now, teams of collectible and customizable  mercenaries fight to reap the rewards from the mysterious contraptions. While playing, players will be able to earn coins and spend them on weapons, soldiers and more customization options within an in-game store to further specialize their band of mercenaries.

Game Center and Facebook implementation has been confirmed, and RAD Soldiers will be utilizing an online service provider called FIRETEAM.

RAD Soldiers is slated for a June 2012 release on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Updates are planned to follow the release and continue streaming content to fans. You can read the press release and visit either Splash Damage or WarChest for more information.
