Henry Smith, former BioWare programmer, has recently quit his job to go indie. His first title, Spaceteam, is a cooperative iPhone and iPad party game for 2 to 4 players who shout technobabble at each other until their ship explodes.
Each player will use their own iPhone or iPad and be assigned a random control panel with buttons, switches, sliders, and dials. You need to follow time-sensitive instructions that are being yelled out by your teammates, in an unfamiliar interface in coordination with everyone who is playing. It looks like complete madness. Fun madness, but madness nonetheless! The premise is that you’re trying to outrun an exploding star as your ship is falling apart. Throw in four regular Joes and it looks like a formula for success.
Spaceteam is expected to launch this November for iOS. For a better look at the game be sure to check out the embedded trailer above. To keep up with Henry Smith and the development of Spaceteam you can do so by following him on Twitter and keeping up with his blog.
