Jonatan Söderström, developer of the recent indie hit, Hotline Miami, is in talks with Sony for a possible port to the PlayStation Vita. If you’re unfamiliar with Hotline Miami, it’s a ultra-violent stylistic murder simulator with a unique soundtrack that just released last week on PC.
Söderström recently told Pocket Gamer the his team has “been talking with Sony” about the idea of porting the game. It is certainly an interesting piece of information given that the Vita has struggled since its release. Could this be a sign of Sony reaching out to indie developers in hopes of bringing life to its latest mobile device? Maybe.
Don’t get your hopes up just yet though. Söderström also stated that that ”we would need someone to port it for us,”. Oddly enough, Söderström also stated that it ”would be interesting to see if it was possible to get it to play well on a touchscreen device”, despite the Vita having analog controls.
To play Hotline Miami you can pick it up on Steam right now for $9.99.
