Okay, we got the message. They loved iOS much more than Android. But that was a way far too long for such a port. The classic hit, Jetpack Joyride, that which had been much popular on iDevices and helped shape the genre of endless runner has finally been brought over, just to the Amazon App Store, for now.
Armed with the agile jetpack and heavy machine gun acquired from seemingly evil experiments, you’ll be running across the screen till (virtual) death do you part as you have been doing for years on your phone. Plenty of gears and armors will be available on the path, from airplane to armored mech, to dodge hazards and rack up high scores on your run. Well, we probably don’t have to explain that much on the genre.
In case the name Halfbrick Studios sounds a bit deja vu to Android gamers, they were the same dudes who made the even more popular and addictive Fruit Ninja. From what we could speculate, it seems to have been a deal with Amazon, and the game is only available on the Amazon App Store right now. Residences outside US territory seem to have to wait for the proper worldwide launch that is probably coming over soon.
Well, and if you have an iDevice and were still curious enough to read this, you’re missing out. It’s been free for iOS App Store for long.
For more information, visit the developer’s website. Jetpack Joyride is currently only available on the Amazon App Store on Android. The original iOS version is free on the App Store. A webapp version for PC is also available.
