Jetpack Joyride Review

I really don’t want to write this review. I’d rather be playing this game! This isn’t just another one of those copycat knockoffs of some “run and dodge” games. This new game by Halfbrick studios (yup, the same people who made Monster Dash) has hit the Top 25 in the AppStore only a few days after it’s official release. There’s a reason for that, because it’s so addicting! The trailer explains how Barry Steakfries is bored and sees a jetpack. Flashbacks and memories play. Then Barry grabs it a flies off! The game starts here. Barry explode through a wall and right into the action. The game starts you (Barry, or other characters) off running with the jetpack on.
If you tap the screen, you’ll activate your jetpack and causing you to fly upwards. Release your finger to descend. As you progress by dodging the electric traps, missiles, spinning electric traps, and lasers will try to stop and kill you. Attempt to grab coins, spin tokens, or vehicle can result in a mistake, or death. After dying, you can access the stash and with your obtained coins, you can purchase new attire, vehicle upgrades, jetpacks, or even single-use powerups. Powerups include a bomb that blows your dead body further, a insta-revive that allows you to continue where you died and a headstart that starts you off at 750 meters.
Vehicles in this game are just fantastic. From a Crazy Teleporter or the Badass Hog to a Robot Mech that blasts through the scientists. Now your probably thinking, what’s the replay value? The replay value of this game is greatly increased by the whimsical jobs and achievements. Some want you to high-five 75 scientists or drive 500 meters in the Badass Hog. After completing a job, you get some stars. Stars equal level up. Level up equals more money! The achievements in the game are unique and they provide more fun when trying to complete them than trying to get a new highscore.

Need more cash? No problem! Buy the counterfeit IAP and get double the coins on everything (excluding coin IAPs)! I decided to get it, it’s worth it! Getting items hasn’t been easier!Overall, this game is superb in almost every aspect. The game is in universal which allows for both iPhone and iPad gaming, and only for the price of 99 cents. Why haven’t you bought it yet?
