When not solving puzzles, we gamers spend most of our time on killing and massacring a massive amount of enemies, be it zombies, monsters, or terrorists. Fortunately, child-like light-hearted stories come out once in a while, giving our mind some peace without taking away fun and joy. Lili is promising to bring us one such game on iDevices soon.
Coming from BitMonster, new indie developer comprised of veterans from Epic Games (with an impressive portfolio involving high profile AAA titles with the likes of Gears of War, Unreal Tournament, and Infinity Blade), Lili reasonably employs the popular and successful Unreal Engine. The outcome, as can be witnessed from the trailer, is a colorful and adorable world with bizarre and crazy-looking characters that easily could captivate anyone.
Described as an “adventure RPG hybrid,” we know little about how Lili will play. The player will assume the role of the young girl Lili and explore the mysterious island of Geos, meet folks, collect loads of items, engage in mini games, and deal with enemies. Among what has been revealed, the “non-combat” combat system has caused both confusion and spectaculation. We don’t really know what that means either, but we can tell that it doesn’t involve killing or taking souls from any creature.
Upon the announcement, Lili is already in its final stage of production, which means it won’t be long until you can experience the adventure on your device yourself. The game is slated for iOS devices. Considering the history of guys coming from Epic Games, we probably won’t be seeing it come to anything else, but we wouldn’t rule out the possibility either.
