Have you ever wanted to band together with your friends to save the world from evil fruit flies? The guys at Large Animal Games got you covered! Nomsters is a New York-based studio’s first step towards breaking away from publishers and releasing their own self-funded projects — living the indie dream — but they need a bit of help from the gaming community.
Players will be called to arms in defense of the Nomster’s home planet, defending their precious fruit supply from the invading fruit flies of a neighboring galaxy. Using the game’s cast of quirky projectile-people, the physics puzzler requires you to collect fruit on-screen while avoiding various obstacles in your way. The environment is made dynamic, not only by said obstacles and enemies which sweep across the screen, but also by the placement of bumpers around each level, adding a certain pinball element to gameplay. All elements come together in a package which promises to challenge and entertain players with colourful, cartoony design as well as an increasing level of difficulty as more options for jolting about the level are allotted to the player. The game also incorporates multiplayer, so your friends really can join in to help or compete for high scores on the games leaderboard.
Currently in alpha stages, Large Animal Games is looking for extra funding in order to add final layers of polish to Nomsters. Retina display as well as android support are among things the developer is looking to add to the game. Depending on pledge amounts, the rewards for contributing range from a special “Kickstarter Edition” of the game, to a trip to New York where you get to meet the team behind the game!
There are currently 17 days left in the Kickstarter and the game already looks very promising, so be sure to support these guys before time runs out.
