Almost two years ago, we spotted Super Stickman Golf, a fun and adorable golf game on iPhone. Since then, the game has changed a lot with every update: more courses, more power-ups, and numerous visual overhauls. The game you get from App Store today is something that could very much have been a good sequel. Other than that and a bunch of ports that greatly enriched your Android gaming library from Game a Week Project that we mentioned previously, we didn’t hear much more from Noodlecake. Turned out they were conspiring while we were busy looking at other things. Prepare for more golfing with the true sequel, Super Stickman Golf 2.
We were not really surprised, but that doesn’t stop our excitement. In the original game, you golfed on a weirdly-terrained 2D side-scrolling arena with bunch of superpowers, simulated physics, a touch of platforming, and of course, lots of fun. It’s already a solid game today, and Noodlecake is nonetheless looking to bring even more with Super Stickman Golf 2. Other than new courses and powerups that we already expected, the new stuff includes a hot-seat multiplayer mode, allowing you to share the golfing fun with fellows and folks, and a puzzle mode, something Noodlecake said would “bring an all new challenge and set of rewards to even the most seasoned of SSG players“. We don’t know what’s in the test chambers yet, but we already spotted a portal-like device in the screenshot. Is the stickman dude another Aparture Science’s test subject trying to kill GLaDOS? That’s just intriguing.
As the development of Super Stickman Golf 2 is closing up, Noodlecake is looking for musical assets from their enthusiastic fans. While they didn’t specifically mention any prize, your composition/remix/cover would get to be there for millions of players, at the very least. Meanwhile, the work on Game a Week Project doesn’t seem to be interrupted, and awesome League of Evil caught our eyes in the list. Rejoice, Android folks! Finally, to commemorate this announcement, Noodlecake has made the original game Super Stickman Golf, previously mere 99 cents, now free for a short time on the App Store. As for Android, it’s been free all along, in case you missed it. Now is a good time to start juicing up your golfing skill again.
We didn’t get any ETA for this cool sequel, but suspect that would not be too long. Meanwhile, stay tuned on IGM Mobile for more updates.
