Owlchemy Labs have announced their next game after Snuggle Truck and its more madcap mayhem with lots of wood to murder in Jack Lumber.
The swiping action has become a bit overused on touch screens for the act of chopping and cutting, hasn’t it? Well if you do think that then you’ll be glad to hear that Jack Lumber, the newly announced title from Owlchemy Labs, will use the act of line drawing instead of swiping for the task. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here though, we’ve completely skipped the reason why all of this wood must be chopped and no it’s not because Jack’s job requires it.
Jack Lumber’s grandmother was killed by trees and that pissed him off. Now he’s angry and is taking revenge on the murderous trees by chopping them up…in bullet time. In Jack Lumber, wood will fly into the screen and the player will be tasked with drawing a line to chop it all whilst everything goes into slow motion once the screen is touched. There will of course be hazards to avoid such as animals but there are power ups too, such as the Time Extend for those precious extra log chopping seconds.
Jack Lumber will be released for iOS devices in the summer of 2012 but if you’re heading out to PAX East this weekend then you’ll be able to give it a once over there.
More information on Jack Lumber can be found on the game’s official website.
